The National Weather Service confirms not one, but two tornadoes in Thursday evening's stormy weather in Douglas county.
The first tornado was an EF-0 between Ava and Mt. Zion. It produced wind speeds of 80-miles-per-hour. It had an estimated width of 100 yards, lasting more than one mile. The storm uprooted several trees and knocked down power lines.
The second EF-0 tornado was confirmed between Ava and Bryant. It too had wind speeds of 80-miles-per-hour. It was 100 yards wide, lasting more than two miles long. It too damaged trees in the area.
